Star of Life Award
CECA TN May 2026

The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department is proud to recognize Lieutenant Brittany Carden and EMT Chris Dixon for receiving the Star of Life Award, an honor recognizing exceptional EMS professionals across Tennessee for their lifesaving service and dedication to their communities.

The department was recognized alongside Anderson County EMS and Anderson County Emergency Rescue Squad for their collaborative efforts and commitment to emergency medical care in Anderson County.

Congratulations to Brittany and Chris on this well-deserved recognition.

Norris Area Community Foundation
Grant Award, May 2026

The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department was honored to receive grant funding through the Norris Area Community Foundation, a community fund of the East Tennessee Foundation.

The foundation awarded $31,000 in grants to nine deserving community organizations serving the Norris area, supporting programs and services that strengthen local communities throughout Andersonville, Bethel, Fairview, and Norris. The Andersonville Volunteer Fire Department is grateful for the continued support of organizations that invest in public safety, volunteerism, and emergency services within our community.

The AVFD was awarded $4,000.
